Habit Arena ("we," "our," or "us") operates the Habit Arena mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, and timezone. This information is required to provide our core service.

Habit Check-in Photos

When you complete a daily check-in, you take a photo using your device camera as proof of habit completion. These photos are stored securely and are only visible to you and your duel opponent.

Usage Data

We collect information about how you interact with the App, including duel participation, check-in streaks, and leaderboard scores. This data is used to provide the competitive habit-tracking experience.

Push Notification Tokens

If you enable push notifications, we store your device token to send you notifications about opponent activity, duel updates, and motivational messages.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain the App's core habit-tracking and duel features
• To match you with duel opponents via invite codes
• To display your progress on the leaderboard
• To send push notifications about duel activity and motivational content
• To generate AI-powered coaching messages (Pro subscribers only)
• To process subscription payments through Apple's In-App Purchase system
• To improve and optimize the App experience

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which provides enterprise-grade security with row-level security policies, encrypted connections, and secure cloud storage. Check-in photos are stored in private, authenticated storage buckets.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Supabase — Database, authentication, and file storage
• RevenueCat — Subscription management and payment processing
• OneSignal — Push notification delivery
• TikTok — Ad attribution and conversion measurement
• Google Gemini — AI coaching message generation (Pro only)
• Apple In-App Purchase — Payment processing
• Vercel — App hosting and serverless functions

Each of these services has their own privacy policies governing how they handle data. We encourage you to review their policies.

6. AI Coach & Google Gemini

The AI Coach feature (available to Pro subscribers) uses Google Gemini, a third-party artificial intelligence service provided by Google, to generate personalized motivational coaching messages. This feature requires your explicit consent before activation.

Data Sent to Google Gemini

When you use the AI Coach, the following data is sent to Google Gemini:

• Your display name
• General statistics: points, leaderboard rank, win/loss/draw record, and win rate
• Active duel information: habit type, current day, check-in progress, and opponent display name
• Recent duel results: outcomes, check-in counts, and opponent display names
• Streak data: current win/loss streak and longest win streak
• Check-in consistency percentage and total check-in count

Data NOT Sent to Google Gemini

The following data is never shared with Google Gemini:

• Your email address
• Check-in photos
• Your device information or IP address
• Payment or subscription details

Consent & Control

The AI Coach feature is opt-in only. You must explicitly agree to the data sharing before any information is sent to Google Gemini. You can revoke this consent at any time from the Settings page, and you may request deletion of your coaching data by contacting us. Google's use of this data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. Your data is shared only in the following limited circumstances:

• With your duel opponent (display name, check-in status, and check-in photos)
• On the public leaderboard (display name and score only)
• With third-party service providers as described above, solely to operate the App
• If required by law or to protect our legal rights

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Opt out of push notifications at any time through your device settings
• Cancel your subscription at any time through Apple's subscription management
• Revoke AI Coach consent and stop data sharing with Google Gemini at any time

9. Children's Privacy

The App is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
